Rolling Sea Tattooery – Custom Lettering Shirt Design

Alicia from Rolling Sea Tattooery in Truro, Nova Scotia, contacted me looking for a custom T-shirt design to promote the business. She had a concept in mind already – the text reading ‘Swear like a Sailor Morals of a Pirate.’ Seeing an opportinity to do some custom lettering I jumped at the chance to work on this project. 

The first step in the design process was to work out the design as a sketch. Done on tracing paper in pencil this allows for a faster rough editing process than on the computer.

Next, I scan the rough sketch and bring it into illustrator to begin tracing.

Once the design was done and approved the printing began. Below are some images of the finished shirts. Printed at My Home Apparel on Stanfields shirts this was a totally local project start to finish.
